An eSIM is a programmable SIM chip built into your device. You download carrier profiles digitally via QR code instead of inserting a physical SIM card. Multiple profiles can be stored and switched between in Settings.

For international travel, yes. eSIM allows you to activate plans digitally before departure, switch between carriers without hardware, and maintain dual-SIM configuration. The main limitation is that some older or budget devices don't support eSIM.
Plans & Data
Regional plans typically cover 30–40 European countries including all EU member states, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and the UK. Some plans extend to Turkey and Balkan countries. Always verify the specific country list before purchasing.
For typical tourist use (maps, messaging, browsing): 5–10GB for 2 weeks. For work trips with video calls: 15–20GB. For nomads using eSIM as primary internet: 30–50GB+. When in doubt, choose a larger plan — unused data is preferable to running out.
Most plans support tethering/hotspot. Enable hotspot on your phone to share the eSIM connection with your laptop or tablet. Check your plan's tethering policy — some plans restrict or limit hotspot data. For work use, choose a plan explicitly supporting tethering.
Activation & Troubleshooting
Yes, and strongly recommended. Install the profile at home over Wi-Fi. Most plans activate automatically when you first connect in the destination country. You arrive connected without any setup required on arrival.
1. Restart your device. 2. Verify eSIM is set as active data line. 3. Enable data roaming on eSIM profile. 4. Toggle airplane mode on/off. 5. Manually select network in Settings. 6. Contact your provider to verify activation status.
Yes. Factory reset removes all eSIM profiles. Contact your provider before resetting to understand re-download options. Keep your QR code email backed up. Some providers allow profile recovery; others require a new purchase.
